23rd May, 7.00 Clock: Eva Seger took up the morning shift at the hospital, her husband Hans is on business in Sweden. Since collapses from one second to the global grid. Aircraft fall from the sky, nothing works more chaos, violence and anarchy . Govern For Eva and Hans it's about survival - and about to come home to her daughter.
My opinion:
this book, I had to digest even a little, and am still torn between "great" and "terrible" . Now I try my impressions gained during this tome to read it in words.
Beginning with the presentation of the book (I read the new edition in paperback), I can not complain. The cover of talks, the paperback version was a good choice in view of the powerful content and it's worked well and stable. Over 800 pages in small print in a book format that the traditional paperback size already exceeds a challenge, and even though the author writes very fluid and catchy, certainly would have been sufficient even 500 pages to tell this story.
The idea is good, the implementation of exciting, cruel, terrifying, and one creates the work in any case, it suggests to think. Even though I am of the opinion that mankind is better than Michael Tietz sees them, and will simply not believe that everyone loses in a very short time, all scruples, selfish and downright evil is it's a successful implementation of an interesting topic. It raises the question of how dependent we have already made from the modern world and whether a survival, as it normally would have been 200 years ago today is possible. If any civilization is suddenly collapses But, no matter how you twist and turn, not without a decimation of human life along and that is what describes Tietz in his book, often brutally, sometimes maybe a little too brutal, but entirely realistic.
disturbing effect on me in addition to the family Seger act too many main characters and is therefore quickly loses its overrated. The book is very detail-heavy, For example, when marginal figures are described in detail too, only to disappear just to back out of history. This one gets easily tempted to read some chapters across. Again, I found interesting the brief glances in between, it looks like the rest of the world.
My conclusion: A book worth something too tall, books and a successful debut.
